The biggest revision of the Model Context Protocol since launch goes final today. Come mark it with the people building on it.
On July 28th, the MCP 2026-07-28 specification ships — a stateless protocol core, a first-class Extensions framework, MCP Apps, Tasks, hardened authorization, and a formal deprecation policy. It's the foundation the ecosystem will grow on for years.
We're getting the SF community together for an evening of talks and demos on what actually changes when the spec lands: how servers scale on plain HTTP without sticky sessions, what MCP Apps unlock for AI-native interfaces, and the patterns people are shipping to production today.
Whether you're writing MCP servers, building MCP Apps for Claude and ChatGPT, wiring up agents, or just getting into the ecosystem, this is the room to be in the night it goes live.
On the agenda
What spec v2 means in practice: the stateless core, Extensions, MCP Apps, and the migration path from the betas.
MCP Apps: building the next generation of AI-native applications on top of MCP.
Infrastructure at scale: deploying and operating MCP servers now that the session is gone.
mcp-use v2: we're also releasing v2 of mcp-use, our open-source fullstack MCP framework
